Ms. Amy Sutton
Ms. Amy Sutton, Occupational Therapist
Occupational Therapy (OT) focuses on enhancing your overall function and well-being through meaningful activities that matter to you, whether related to self-care, work, leisure, or other aspects of life. As an OT in mental health, my role is to understand your unique strengths and challenges, so we can work together to achieve your treatment goals in real-life settings.
Many people already have strategies to manage anxiety or other mental health symptoms but struggle to apply them outside of a therapy setting. That’s where I come in. I can meet you in-person, in various community environments, to practice these strategies in real-time. We’ll take it step-by-step, gradually approaching situations that feel uncomfortable, so you can build confidence and get back to living a meaningful life.
My goal is to help you become more independent and find purpose in your daily activities. One of my strengths is breaking tasks down into manageable steps so they don’t feel overwhelming. This approach helps you reduce frustration and avoidance while promoting a greater sense of accomplishment as you move forward.
I’m professionally trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy and I also integrate other evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing into my work with clients. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals who’ve experienced trauma, including first responders who face unique emotional and psychological challenges.
Having grown up overseas, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for different cultures and communities, as well as a lifelong passion for travel. As a mom, I truly understand the importance of balancing a personal life with the demands of mental health and self-care. These experiences have given me an additional layer of empathy and understanding in working with individuals navigating their own challenges.
When we work together, you can expect an empathetic, flexible approach tailored to your needs. I’ll meet you where you are and take the time to truly understand your experiences and challenges. I believe in creating a supportive space, using humor and compassion to help us navigate difficult topics and strategies. Together, we’ll build a practical “toolbox” of strategies you can use in real-life situations to manage your symptoms and improve your well-being. While I’ll always offer encouragement and support, I also know when to challenge you to move toward your goals. My approach strikes a balance between offering compassionate support and pushing you to take steps forward when you’re ready.
Above all, I approach each client with curiosity and a genuine desire to learn about you—your strengths, your struggles, and how I can best support you in reaching your full potential. My commitment is to help you move toward a life that is more meaningful, purposeful, and fulfilling.
Let’s work together to create lasting change, helping you gain greater independence and joy in your everyday life.

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
