Ms. Andrea Perra, Registered Psychologist

EMDR Certified Therapist™

Your existence matters and you deserve to be valued for who you are. Life can be challenging and complex at the best of times, and downright overwhelming when we are faced with big life adjustments, exceptional stressors, health changes, loss, or trauma. Some of our struggles may be generated from early-life experiences before we can understand their impact or have any power to change the outcome. This can lead to feeling burdened by anxiety, shame, and guilt, or a sense of not measuring up or being “good enough.”

Your needs are my priority, and I am genuinely interested in getting to know you and building a trusting connection. I offer practical skills, nerdy science education, and methods that promote lasting shifts in your emotional responses and beliefs. My style is warm, respectful, collaborative, down to earth, and individualized to how you make sense of things.

My advanced training and certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) provide a solid foundation for treating trauma and other distressing life experiences, in addition to a strong understanding of the nervous system, attachment science, and the mind-body connection. Aside from EMDR, I predominantly draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and somatic approaches, Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and I am well-versed in Prolonged Exposure (PE). I work with adults in person and online. Together we will find the right approach for you.

You know yourself better than anyone and I trust in your capacity to heal, thrive, and let go of patterns that no longer work for you. I’m passionate about helping people get to the root of their concerns and find meaningful paths forward with dignity and well-being. I bring relatability as a married mother of young children and a member of a first responder family and would be honoured to hear your story.

“It takes courage to push yourself to places you have never been before… to test your limits… to break through barriers. And the day came when the risk it took to stay tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
