“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”
~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional

If you are looking for a strong, directive therapist who is going to challenge you while at the same time offer genuine understanding, empathy and compassion then I may be a fit for you. I will laugh with you and will be there with you when you cry and through all of the moments in between. We can work together to change any necessary behaviours, thoughts, or emotions and/or to accept things that are outside of your control. I will strive to meet you where you are at, but also encourage you to meet your therapy goals, even when it might seem tough.

I am a doctoral-level psychologist with approximately 15 years of experience. I draw on a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities and implement interventions in an ethical and deliberate manner. I like to incorporate humour, metaphors, education, and self-disclosure (when appropriate) to help work through your presenting issues and to also provide support and validation to normalize your experience. Ultimately, I am immensely passionate for what I do and feel that beyond any techniques or interventions that it is the relationship and fit that is of utmost importance; and so, I will make every effort to make you feel comfortable, heard, and safe.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of capacities including as a teacher, sessional instructor at universities, and as a supervisor. I have extensive experience working with First Responders and couples, and offer psychoeducational assessments in addition to individual and couples therapy. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional and have advanced couples training in trauma, affairs, alcohol, and addictions. My trauma treatment expertise includes the three gold-standard modalities: Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Additionally, I hold Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and am actively working toward full Gottman Certification. My ongoing education also includes training in suicide intervention and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), allowing me to stay current and effective in my practice.

Outside of my professional life, I am a married mother of two young children and enjoy touch football, curling, golf, and running. If you feel like you would like to work together to address your therapy needs, please feel free to reach out to me to book your first appointment.
